Avery’s Heroes is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing free and reduced-cost mental health services to our nation’s active military members, veterans of all wars, and their families. During and after serving our country, many service members struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, paranoia, or family troubles at home. By providing services to combat these issues, Avery’s Heroes aims to ease the transition from service member to civilian. We offer psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to work with individuals one-on-one and make positive strides toward a state of well-being. For family members, we provide marriage and couples counseling as well as play therapy for children in order to address the concerns of how PTSD and other issues affect the loved ones of our nation’s heroes.
With the Veterans Health Administration overwhelmed with veterans needing services, it is crucial alternative avenues for assistance exist. As a non-profit organization, Avery’s Heroes relies solely on public donations to fund our program. 100% of all donations received go toward our program and services, and no member of the Avery’s Heroes board makes a salary or wage.
